I wrote this song for a songwriter "in the round" showcase I played at The Hearing Room in Lowell, MA. The prompt me and my fellow songwriters were given was "fine lines." I decided to write a song exploring where the fine line exists between friendship and romance. In typical Kristian fashion, I didn't like the song I had already started for the prompt and ended up cranking this song out the night before I had to play it live.

It ain't worth taking the risk

Seven months deep and you already know
My fears beyond a glance
But I swear that two weeks in
You knew my life like the back of your hand
And secrets ain't so secret when I know what you're thinking
When those hazel eyes linger a little too long
You thought I wouldn't notice but I've noticed all along
